After more than 20 years working in the natural resources industry - including 5+ years at the Indiana Department of Transportation and 15+ years of consulting - I decided to embark on a new venture.  I founded Little River Consultants in July, 2015, to focus on providing high quality natural resource consulting services.  

After 15 years in consulting, and in a post-recession world, I became concerned that senior staff were involved less and less in execution of projects and development of junior scientists, due to budget constraints.  It also seemed that most of the staff conducting “on the ground” work had insufficient experience and training.

I founded Little River on the idea that experienced personnel should remain active participants in projects and are obliged to mentor the next generation of scientists.  This can be accomplished without budget overruns by controlling overhead costs.  Keeping experienced staff involved at the project level provides better products for the client, and results in better management of our natural resources.  Mentoring junior staff ensures that tradition continues.
